I saw Salvia jurisicii for the first time at the nursery today. BEAUTIFUL! But on Google someone says it looks horrible by August. Any thoughts?

I planted two last spring but neither grew well and both disappeared the same summer. Possibly they didn't have ideal conditions. Anyway, I can't say anything about its appearance in August, as they didn't survive that long.

This is not looking good! If you can't grow them, my chances are limited. I'll have to read up on ideal conditions for them.

Is this the one with feathery foliage? If so I did see it at a local nursery and thought it looked cool but I couldn't think of anywhere to put it. When I went back they were sold out anyway.

I have it. It's an alpine and doesn't like hot humid summer weather. That's why it gets ratty by August in such locations. Farther north you might have a better experience. Definitely worth it.

Yes, ideal conditions are full sun and dry. It had half a day of sun and fairly moist soil in my garden. I assume that's what did it in.
