Barb welcome to Garden Buddies. What about morning glories? They grow fast and furious for me.

Welcome to Garden Buddies, Barb! How about Boston Ivy (that's what I have on my deck), or Virginnia Creeper? You could maybe try Akebia, although those leaves are smaller, or clematis too.
The ivy and Virginnia Creeper are green through the summer and turn red in the fall, then shed their leaves for the winter.
Morning glory is good too, and grows faster than what I've mentioned.
Here's the ivy in the summer. You can see the leaves around the figures..

And the Virginnia Creeper...it actually has a clematis growing through it as well.

Hello Barb and welcome! What about euonymus (winter creeper)? It stays green all winter.
It's slower to grow but once established it's wonderful.

Arlene Diane & SusanQ
Hello and thank you for the welcomes
I am very happy being here this looks like a wonderful forum with lots of wonderful and informative people.
we Had morning Glory's before and they were beautiful..the fence is between us and very nosy neighbors...so I thought something More for privacy and something that would stay all year round..I do like the idea of Winter Creeper tho..will most defiantly be looking inti that
Again Thank you so much

Welcome Weedie! My Mom used to plant morning glories all along her chain link fence and it looked so pretty, but that is something you have to replant year after year. I have the same Ivy as Diane has in the first picture. It grows quickly and really covers a big area. I have planted it growing up 2 dead trees and it looks beautiful. The fall colours are stunning too.
What part of Ontario are you in?

Hi Lulubelle
thank you for the welcome...
I love the look of the Morning Glory's in fact this morning my GF came over with six peat pots of different kinds vine and bush types thing is she didn't mark them and she has no clue what is what.lol
I like the fact that the Ivy changes color would add some spark to the fence for sure but would really like something that stayed filled in all year...
I'm in South Ontario just East of Toronto in the Ajax,Pickering area

If you were closer, I'd say, let's meet and I'll bring you some of my vines. I'm in Western Quebec....20 minutes from Hawksbury, Ontario taking the 17 or 50 minutes from Cornwall taking the 401.
Oh well! Do post a picture when you get the fence covered. We'll all be curious!

LOL that's just a wee bit more then a hop, skip and a jump from here...Thank you so much for the wonderful thought tho..
the people next door are not the neatest people either..not that our yard is neat as a pin but they moved in two years ago and have mowed the front and back all of three times..in fact the people on the other side of them complained about the unkept front yard...they have some very evasive weeds as well that creep into the area I plant my Tomatoes ...oh well guess there is always something Eh lol
