I just edged a new SUN garden bed in my front yard in zone 5. I'd like to have height in the middle and then use smaller perrenials in the front. Can anyone offer suggestions on the height plants for the middle of the bed please? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you. Laf

How about roses bushes, hollyhocks and lilies? For this summer you may not want to plant all these till closer to fall to insure they take. It is not easy getting plants established at this time of year and you may not find as great a selection in the nurseries. Why not fill in with some annuals this year? You could try some sunflowers, cosmos and cleome. The cleome you will always have as they are prolific self sowers.
