Weedie..is there any type of function that you may require..I had thought maybe an area for eating..barbequing...if not, maybe an area to put up a potting shed..this is a vision I had..but, of course..it's because I don't know "what" you need that area to function as....Jeanne

I love a veggie garden and think that it is great that DH is involved! The pond will develop once the roofers with the size 16 feet are gone. We charged them 5 cents per nail left on the ground! ;-)

As for the space that is left, I agree with Jeanne that it depends on how you hope to use the garden. Are there kids, visitors, sun bathers, pets??? Perhaps container gardening around the pond would leave space for that now open area. I think grass lawn would be a nuisance. Think of gravel, interlocking stone, flagstone...whatever is affordable, safe and attractive! Have fun with your project...and don't forget to show us the results later on!

Sometime in the future perhaps you could install a pergola over the new area and grow something cool, green and colourful on it. Having the stone or gravel area would allow for traffic to the pond and the vegetable garden and perhaps the water outlet, without demolishing grass.

Oh my Tidy and DH in the same sentence..now that would be a miracle LOL
Yippee I got batteries but dark now so will take a better photo in the AM

The patio will get fixed.. over the years some stones got ruined so those would be replaced...
I would like something clean looking someplace I can relax and yes a BBQ ..it's only DH and I home now (BIG GRIN) so we just have a small BBQ grill and a table set that is moved a way waiting on the dang roofers..

LOL Monique..took a while reading your post..Love it

Gardenbug.....DH and I love the Veggie garden that is just a part of it the rest of the Tomatoes are behind the garage.....
I was thinking of grass if there is such a thing for high traffic...we do have gatherings in the summer months now and then..that's the only time the big grill gets used...or I thought a wood deck type of area with potted plants around..just something clean looking that I can escape to....
