It was hotter than heck yesterday...we got up and started the new sidewalk and Patio for Barbequing.. This pic you will see the designed outlay...
Getting the cement in and laying out the flagstone to suit us
We managed to get this part done yesterday morning..it was so hot and decided to wait till the sun went down to finish the sidewalk
This shows the true slope of that area ..a bit of a challenge but we got it done..now a nice bit of area for us that matches the Birdie Patio we did earlier..
This is my working Vision for that area...Hope you have enjoyed...Jeanne

Looks good so far Jeanne. don't let the direct sun get onto the wet cement, or it will crack. We want to do something similar around the house, tho at my husband's rate of acheivement I may not live to see it!

What a great job. That looks so nice and inviting. WE have been wanting to do something like that also...if we ever find the time and it cools off a little. Great job! Mary

Very impressive Jeanne, it looks professionally done. I can't imagine all the work that must have gone into that. Kudos!

It looks just wonderful, Jeanne, and I can see how much work went into it. You have such a beautiful setting and I can imagine how you will enjoy this for years to come!

Wow, Jeanne, you did an excellent job. Help me to get started...please? How did you make it so smooth? Also, did you use that green weed boundary strips that one can buy at Home Depot? Thanks for any help you can give.

Karalyn..Yes we bought that Plastic Green bendable Edging stuff at Lowe's..that's the beauty of it is that not only does it serve it's purpose as to hold in the cement..you can use a leveler after pounding it in to make sure it's level. We connected the Green edging together...then laid it down and manipulated it to fit in what we thought was a desirable shape..then poured in Concrete (The kind with Pebbles in it) and then laid the flagstone ontop..place the orange leveler you see in the first picture on the edging and over the flagstone..we would add more underneath if needed or take away..you just work your way across ..then we put powdered cement in all the cracks and brushed away the excess and "misted" to set it up..I continued misting and if any places seem to sink in the cracks I just added more cement..and mist again...it really is easy and fun...we have done that to several homes....as far as I know they are still standing...if you need anymore help...just ask...Jeanne..

OH, thanks! I will have to experiment with that idea for pathways in my perennial flower garden. The cement with pebbles in it, are the pebbles rounded?

Karalyn..when you buy the bags of Concrete they already have the pebbles in them...and yes they are small and round..but sink down in the mix...they won't be on the surface when finished..if that is what you are wondering...Jeanne
