Howdy, we are living in Central Texas. I planted more than 40 Lavenders in Boxes to stand them in the edge of our patio but they refuse to bloom! They were standing in a full sun area. Was this the problem? Now I placed them under the carport and they are doing better, but I think the flower time is over this year, isn't it? Thanks for advice! Sil

Sil, Some first year lavenders won't bloom. If they are overly fertilized, they sometimes won't bloom. But my sister in Austin reports her lavender is just going into bloom.

Full sun would never be a problem for lavenders. Are these a variety of English lavender? The different lavenders have different flowering seasons. French and Italian types here are pretty much year round, English are summer only, and a bit fussier. I don't have an opinion on too much fertilizer, that is never an issue in my garden!
