This is probably a dumb question but,is the seed in the center of my calla lilies good for anything?

Sure; it's good for making more calla plants.

Perhaps my reply should have been clearer.

The yellow spathe in the center of the flower is not seeds. The seeds come after the flower is finished. The seed head will get to be about the size of a chicken egg, and the seeds will look, somewhat, like corn kernels. When the seed head starts to turn brown, and dry, the seeds are ready.
