I picked up this plant..an annual here ..during a Gardenbuddy outing .I was hoping to gather seeds for next yr.. I walked the garden late yesterday and discovered pretty little fluffers around..At close inspection I found one of the Tweedia pods had burst open and all this fairy hair was floating about..each one had a seed attached.I picked my other pod and opened it..
I hope they take next Spring when I start my seedlings indoors..But what a little marvel of nature this plant is:)

It is pretty isn't it! That pic with the angel in the background is too cute! I've never heard of this one before. How tall does it get?

What an interesting plant! I love those cute little blue flowers. Almost milkweed-type pods.

Monique thanks for the info. Susan I thought the same thing that they looked like milkweed pods. Some of my favorite things when I was a child. I loved to peel them open and make the seeds fly away in the wind on their silk parachutes.

I've grown these (as annuals) for 2 years and don't know of another flower so pure in its turquoise-ness. A very unusual color. The seeds need light to germinate, just so everyone knows, and are available, I think, from Thompson and Morgan, as well as Patrick Studio.
