It smells wonderful. I did get concerned that the counter top was warm so I placed a large round cork table saver under the cooker. In an hour I'll see how tender it is and I may add some extra time for all the peaks. DH did a few times too I heard.

A..I always have my cooker on a big chopping block and my counters are ceramic:) They would never burn..but that was a good idea.I hope u like it..If DH peeked..that's a good sign:)

Hey everyone. It came out great. I had quite a few tastes as I shredded the roast into it's storage container. This is tomorrow's dinner. Now that i see how this system works I feel better about leaving it on while I am at work.

And cleanup was easy. Nothing burned or stuck to the pot. Warm water and a soapy spunge did the trick.

I'll save you looking Ro..and A..I posted this last yr or the yr before:

French Dip Sandwiches..


Introduction
This is a great tasting and unusual seasoned sandwich. Give it a try, it is great.

Ingredients
1 beef chuck roast (about 3 lbs.) or Blade Roast
2 cups water

1/2 cup soy sauce

1 tsp. dried rosemary

1 tsp. dried thyme

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 bay leaf

3-4 whole peppercorns

8 French rolls, split



Directions
Place roast in crock-pot. Add water,soy sauce,and seasonings. Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until beef is tender.Remove meat from broth; shred with forks and keep warm. Strain broth; skim off fat. Pour broth into small cups for dipping. Serve beef on rolls.Makes 8 servings




Best served with caramelized onions on top..your favorite condiment..i.e. dijon,etc..

I love that thing. I wish I had gotten one long ago. I have to get some more recipes for it. I've made chicken, pot roast, and pork loin. And an apple desert which I won't do again. At least not the one I tried.
