I want to cook spare ribs in the crock pot on Thursday. Have you done that? Any recipes to recommend? It was a pleasure to come home on this dismal rainy day to the wonderful aroma of chicken soup that cooked while work all day.

Sorry I didn't get to you sooner about this but my wonderful husband took me out for my birthday last night. Ok, back to your question and to the recipe. Barbecue Ribs: 3 - 4 pounds spareribs salt and pepper 1 onion, sliced 1 16-ounze bottle of smoky bbq sauce ( or 2 cups homemade sauce; which I make and use my own sauce. Sprinkle the ribs with salt and pepper. Place ribs on broiler pan under broiler for 30 min. to brown and remove excess fat. Put sliced onion in Crock-Pot Slice ribs into serving pieces and place in crock-pot. Pour in bbq sauce. Cover and cook on Low 8 - 10 hours. (High: 4-5 hours.) ````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Also; here is one for Short Ribs: Braised Short Ribs: 4 pounds of beef short ribs salt and pepper Flour 2 medium onions, sliced 1 1/2 cups beef broth, water, OR bbq sauce Roll short ribs in flour;(about 1 cup), 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 t. pepper. Brown well in large skillet. Put sliced onions in crock-pot. Add browned ribs and liquid of choice. Cover and cook on low 8 - 10 hours OR (high; 4 - 6 hours) Remove meat to platter; thicken gravy if so desired. Gravy......} Any time you want to make a thick gravy; add some quick-cooking tapioca at the beginning and it will thicken as it cooks. OR.......you may remove foods from the pot and leaving the juices. Prepare a smooth paste of approximately 1/2 cup flour OR cornstarch to 1/2 cup water OR 4 tablespoons melted butter. Pour mixture into liquid into the crock-pot and stir well. Turn to High and when it comes to a boil(about 15 min.) it is ready.

First of all I wish you a belated happy birthday. Thanks for the help here. I do want to do this with sweet and sour sauce so I'll just substitute that for the BBQ. Thanks for your expertise.
