I love sunflowers too. What is that variety? I can only grow the dwarf ones in pots due to lack of sun. Mary

These are one of the delights of my late summer garden and I wouldn't be without them. In fact I always promise myself I'll plant more next year. I love the new burnt orange colors and the really darks.

I like them too! Mine have been 'gone by' for some time now and stripped of their seeds by the very skilled at seed extracting birds.

I think they add so much beauty as well as the little finches, which enjoys the seeds, to our gardens. I had the Velvet Queen last year, she was so dark and lovely but this year I planted the Italian White and the sunkist yellow. The flower head on Sunkist Yellow got so large that it just bent the whole sunflower down to the fence, now that was a sight.
