I've pulled a few of my favorite leaf forms to compare shapes and patterns. Some are grown from seed, others were not. The long leaf hederifolium I call 'Stretch Limo'.

They are so lovely Carol. Can you name them left to right top to bottom? I think that dark one above the coum 'christmas tree' form is one of my mystery ones posted in my thread. It looks similar in pattern and shape. I would be interested to know what that one is in particular.

Terry, I think it's graecum anatolicum, at least that is what the label reads. This one came from John Lonsdale in PA.

Thanks Carol. I have some unlabeled pots and this is one of them. I thought it was a graecum. John Lonsdale has a great website. Too bad we didn't have Tim this side of the pond too. Of course I would be broke buying cyclamen (and hellebore)plants from him.

Thank you, Ann. The coum was from a trade of seed I received years ago from New Zealand. Also the plant in the back right corner from the same seed trade was labeled " africanum ". I love the front right, purpurascens, and the back left, hederifolium. Thank you, Tim, as these would never be in my collection and I'm fond of both! Too bad Tim isn't on this side of the Atlantic so we could visit him and his large plant inventory!

Wouldn't that be fun! Of course Tim would have to count his stock before he let us go home! And poor Susan having to put up with us all!

That is some nice variety there Carol. The large one with the darkest color is very interesting.

That hederifolium was grown from seed collected in NW Corfu. There were some superb plants at that site (right up on top of a hill next to a monastery). Probably the best plants I saw on Corfu. Below is a photo of one leaf which is on a plant grown from seed taken from the same plant as yours, Carol. The parent plant is still in that colony - probably flowering right now.

Isn't gardening great and gardenbuddies in particular? One makes friends and seeds go round the world and as a result of it the joy of gardening multiples.

Oh, but Jonathan, you can visit Tim. After all he must be closer than going to Turkey as you did on one of your holidays! And as a bonus you could get to see some pretty interesting hellebores.

Wow, thanks for the tip Jonathan. The Edgewood gardens site is superb. I hadn't heard of it. Carol sure is lucky in PA with all those wonderful gardens around!
