I posted this in starters, but maybe more will see it here and answer my question. I ordered seed last year from Gardens North and put the seed into a bag of moist vermiculite and stored in the fridge to cool treat it. I took the bag out several days ago and they are germinating. Would you grow on in warm house temps or the alternate area I can grow them is under lights in a room that has no heat and is now down into the upper 40's because the weather outside is in the 20's. The temperature normally will be between 40-50 in that room. Any help is appreciated.

Why not email GN for advice? She's very helpful. If you can't contact her, then I'd go for the cool room. Under lights makes things a bit warmer too. I'd say get a thermometer to check that the temp is as close to 50 as possible. That's what I'd do. I grow gillenia and it is a lovely plant! I'm always nervous that it won't return...but it does!

Hi Marie, thanks for answering. I have e-mailed GN a few days ago because she is also offering some interesting Fritillaria seed. Surprisingly I have not heard from her-I am also checking my junk/trash mail. Maybe she is away, somewhere nice and warm I hope. I'll have to put a thermometer under the lights to see what the temperature is, at night the lights are off, and the room has gone down to low 40's last night. I had thought it stayed warmer last year, I have to check my records. The cyclamen are doing ok there so maybe they will too.
