Sounds delicious Monique. Looks like some fun recipes on the site. I wouldn't mind trying his rutabaga fries. We are having some simple fare. I bought a lot of ground beef in bulk a while back and made up quite a few mini meatloaves, which I froze to give myself some easy meals later down the line, like tonight. I have that in the oven now, and will accompany with smothered potatoes, brussel sprouts which Randy loves and maybe a little caeser salad.

Keep em coming:) I know those Rutabaga fries look good.I only had turnips..last night we had sweet potato fries..very similar..
The site is interesting isn't it?He loves to cook so much! And I love Maine..so it's fun:)

I usually enjoy these blog type of cooking sites. If someone takes the time to devote their whole blog to cooking, then you know they have a passion for it! Hey, I bet turnip fries would be interesting too!

What a beautiful site, Monique!
I have to confess dinner tonight was fetched from the local grocery store seafood department by DH - cold shrimp cocktail and smoked fish! Normally, we like to go out for dinner on Saturdays but it's very rainy tonight. Afterward we watched the 2004 movie version of Phantom of the Opera, probably my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.

It's just something we try to do for ourselves - our 'date night'
Believe me, it's not always fancy. Sometimes it's just a salad and an appetizer for me.
Tonight MIL is coming for dinner and I'm making "Italian Pot Roast' with penne pasta.

I can't access the site either, Greg.

I don't cook on weekends. Last night it was California Pizza Kitchen. I had Grilled sausage and peppers, pasta and shared a chocolate cheese cake for dessert. Tonight maybe pizza.

MMMMMM Carrot cake...always a favorite!!! What a neat little vignette you have given us too. I love the fact that I can understand your recipe. I know enough french to get me by and cake recipes are so universal, that its easy to follow along.

We are going to the casino tonight for a belated birthday dinner for me. (Can't waste the 5 free dollars they will give me to spend..I might actually win something OR NOT!) They have Vietnamese food at one of their restaurants and I will probably get some Pho and fresh spring rolls...unless I get tempted otherwise.

I love your cookbook. Don't you love those memories! I've never had one that had blank pages to add recipes like that - mine have been 'scrapbooked' for years, now more and more stored on the computer, of course. There's such comfort in seeing wonderful oldies - handwritten or from old magazines and newspapers.

Your Gateau aux Carottes looks wonderful! Such a pretty photo. Carrot cake is one of my favorites. How do you and Jacques stay so slender???

Well ..I must confess I LOVE to bake but can resist it all easily..The carrot cake.. I'll try a bite..and then it's easy for me to not eat the whole thing..Salt is where I weaken..
Jacques is very fit and works out on the treadmill ap 1 hr every night..but for the past 15 yrs.. and NEVER misses unless if we are out or in FL..summer he golfs and does that..
He eats 4 fruits every morning:) a light lunch..
Dinner here is the main event. We both look forward to dinner..I know it should be the other way around..

As for me..if I see I am putting on weight..I'll watch it for a few days..It's been maintenance for 30 yrs. It's really not as easy as it seems for me.For J ..it's just the way he is.Very health conscious.
