DD and Dh really liked these..On the cover of BA this month..
1 tbsp unsalted butter 3/4 cup chopped packed green onions 1 1/2 cups all purp flour 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal 2 tbsps sugar 2 1/2 tsps baking powder 3/4 tsp coarse kosher salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 chilled unsalted butter(1 stick) cut in 1/2 inch cubes 1 1 /2 cups coarsely grated extra sharp cheddar cheese(packed) 1 large egg 3/4 cup buttermilk ..about 1 tbsp finely minced canned chipotle chilis in adobo sauce 1 egg beaten w/ 1 tbsp whipping cream for glaze Position rack in centre of oven. Preheat at 425 F. Melt the 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet and soften the green onions for about 2 mins. Set Aside. Blend flour,cornmeal,sugar,baking powder and salt and baking soda in processor..add butter .. cut in using on off till mixture resembles coarse meal...Add cheese using on off turns. Transfer flour mixture to a big bowl..Whisk one egg in a glass measuring cup add buttermilk to make one cup.Add green onion mixture and chipotles. Make a well in the centre of dry ings..add buttermilk mixt.in centre.. Mix until evenly moistened. Turn dough out onto a generously floured board and knead about 10 turns till dough holds together. Pat out on a generously floured board and flatten to a disk 3/4 inch thibck..Cut w/ a 3 inch biscuit cutter .Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet. Brush biscuits with egg glaze. Bake ap 18 mins or until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool on rack 5 mins.. Serve warm..Smells great:)

Monique, those are so beautiful and luscious looking. I've got it printed and think these would be so good with the Taco soup!

I can't think of anything it would go better with! If you can.. in the US I am told they have double acting BP..I think I would try that:)
