Just got my Cheddar Cheese Braid Bread mixed up (say that real fast 3 times) and is rising in the bowl but just now realized that I don't have Poppy Seeds to sprinkle on top before going in the oven but I do have, Caraway Seed, Celery Seed and Sesame Seeds. My ? is; can I use a different seed in place of the Poppy Seeds? Thank you. With the drop in sudden temperatures and chance of freezing rain, I thought it would be a good day to make some homemade bread. Going to get freezing rain and sleet just when some of my roses started to bloom yesterday. Well, back to my baking and again thank you for your help, in advance. Colleen

Denise, I'm a poppy seed nut but w/o it I would definitely enjoy sesame seed. Ummm, the smell of homemade bread...lucky you! It's 1ºF here right now...bet it's as cold or colder in 'up north' WI. Baking that aromatic bread will help keep your kitchen toasty, huh? :)

Thank you ladies. I did go ahead and used the Sesame Seeds and also used alittle Caraway Seed. Just got the bread out of the oven and boy, does it ever smell good here. It's still early in the day so think I will go ahead and mix up some whole wheat bread. I will post the recipe for my Cheddar Cheese Bread later. Right now, I'm off to the kitchen again to do some more baking. A good day to do so being it's so cold outside. Quote when I'm baking and cooking; especially today. A messy kitchen is a happy kitchen, and this kitchen is delirious.
