I have Serenata, and it's been a wonderful, prolific plant even in it's first full year (in the garden). No pictures of it, but it's a rich, deep purple.

Jeanne, I have Sprinkles but don't have a decent pic for you. It is a pretty one though. Marie's pic is a good one.

Gorgeous picture of "Sprinkles", Marie! Do you have yours growing in a container or in your garden? I have this one too and it's been very slow to establish. I still have it growing in a 1 gallon container.

I have not been able to find Sprinkles in Canada so far. The photo was taken in my friend's garden in Oregon.

I probably will keep "Sprinkles" in its container until the Fall and then decide if it should be planted in the garden or remain in a pot.

I have Serenata and it is beautiful. I've always thought it was a 3 but have read somewhere that it was a 2. I did notice early flowering when I left it alone. The color is intense and a good sized bloom I do have photos of her, but as of yet I'm waiting for my son to return my computer which he has taken apart and is using my parts and pieces to make his go faster or add windows. I don't know, I always get the run around from my computer whiz sons. So I use my husband's office computer and I don't have access to my photos, at least I can't find them but DS says I can. We'll get that straightened out soon I hope! But I bide my time by buying clematis from Walmart and potting them up and sow seeds in the house, etc. I'm still healing from my surgery and had to go in for some more surgery on March 13th due to complications of the first surgery. So my activities are limited. I've ordered Avant Garde and Marmori from Garden crossings, but won't be delivered until May. Which is late for my zone. But I have enough things to keep me occupied. I didn't realize I had ordered Marmori before I bought the Marmori from Walmart, but I got a good deal at Walmart and Garden Crossings, (at least that is until I see what Garden Crossings sends me, and it might be more developed than the ones from Walmart). I saw Marmori at Walmart in a peat moss bag with two rootings. The price was $6.50 and for 2 good strong rootings the price becomes $3.25. Which I felt was a good deal. I potted up Minister first, bought Marmori, Amanda Marie, and Viola and one other that was in a separate package named Barbara Jackman. This was last week so today I'll pot them up since today is going to be a rainy day. Anyway, Minister has already sent up some strong shoots and stems. So I feel great about my purchase. I bought Perrin's Pride from Edward's Green House in Boise it was $8.95. It is a very nice plant and a very good price with a new type of lattice or support that attaches to the bottom of the pot through the drain hole. It is a green plastic covered metal support. Beats the stapled wooden stake to the pot. I've been wanting Perrin's Pride for awhile and i can't recall if I ever bought it as a two incher and it didn't make it or the label was wrong. So I'm excited about this purchase. Yippee!

Karalyn...you've been busy clematis-ing! :) I so look forward to doing the planting end of it too...right now it's finishing up the trimming with just a few more to go, and then it's on to fertilizing. May will be planting time around here in zone 5. I have the same ones you have mentioned. Enjoy! :)

Nice list of purchases, Karalyn! I though I bought Serenata but now I believe it is Romantika - which is not a bad thing! It blooms late and is very dark. Sprinkles seems to be a slow grower for me here.

HI Sunny and Katie, Yes, I have been trimming or pruning too. I love to do it, I take snatches of time while I check out what is coming up from the ground like daffodils, tulips, seedlings of different self sown flowers or perennials, etc. So I enjoy the sunny days that way, and then make a mess in the kitchen diningroom while potting up clematis and other flower bulbs etc., on the rainy days. katie, I bought Romantika last year, I think, the months and years seem to blend for me right now. It drives me crazy! Anyway, I bought it for the same reasons as you noticed. The dark, blackish purple color. now I just hope I know which pot it is in. I sometimes repot and tell myself "you had better get a label in the pots" then I don't do it soon enough and the flowering label has blown off and I can't remember which one it is! I wait due to us getting freezing temps or have over done it with my allowance for activity vs resting to heal. At least I have been good about keeping the labels and recording some type of entry into some type of gardening journal. Plus if I'm lucky I took photos. So it is a waiting game on some to see if it was Perle D'Zur or PPE. I bought a lot of these at $1.50 from Walmart and have babied them. I would like to get Sprinkles too. It is on my list of Wants. Then those clematis breeders just keep on breeding more lovelies! Darn them! LOL Like Brian C. and other famous people, let's see uh..Katie? I'm glad there are so many out there to choose from and what's nice is that they don't HURT! No thorns or stickers, so "ITS A GOOD THING".
