I was hoping to get a few ideas for my spilling pots this year. I had petunias last year and they were very pretty, but would like to hear other suggestions. The first shot is from the summer, the last two are today. Thanks!

How about some pink and/or white alyssum? They're so dainty and look great in pots and in beds.

That is so neat Malgorzata. I've never tried spilling pots myself but I always admire them.

How neat Suzy. How about forget-me-nots or trailing lobelia? Copper Lilac, glad you joined us.

Now I'm getting an idea...what about white allysum as they've used and blue lobelia...maybe it will look like running water. Thanks for the picture Malgorzata!

Welcome Copperlilac and thanks for the idea! I love the smell of alyssum. It reminds me of honey.

Welcome to Gardenbuddies, Copperlilac and another Wisconsinite, yea! Suzy, I thing the allysum and lobelia would look great. I've never tried a spilling pot but I've gotten the inspiration to try one this year :)

Looks like we are going to have to have a 'best spilling pot' competition now! Maybe see what we can all do by June, or something. Margaret

Great idea Greth! I for one would love to see lots of pictures of how others use a feature like this, because no matter what I do this year, there's always next year!!!

Like Greth, my pot spilling isn't always intentional! but I'd like to join the competition ... sound like it will be fun, and of course another excuse to buy yet more plants and pots! Thanks Suzyqt!

What a great topic. I have a few in the garden, but have never intentionally planted them. I like the idea of creating water. Now I have to think about it. I do use trailing lobelia in my pots and love them. Copper Lilac, love your name. Welcome. Carol

Wonder if our local pot making man has any broken ones he would be glad to get rid of, hmmm, his stuff is much betterer than I can afford! Maybe a major spilling Aladdin's urn.... (on the mine's bigger than yours principle!) Ideas, ideas, ideas.. Greth
