I have started foxglove from seed about 8 weeks ago according to the package instructions. The foxglove are doing well but are still quite small. Does anyone know if they will still flower this year.

Generally fox glove are biennial so they will not bloom in the first year though there are some perennial varieties too. You will have to check the seed package to see if there is any help there.

I have grown them from seed. They are a biennial, which means they bloom the second year. It is wise to plant them two years in a row and that way the reseeded plants will give continuous bloom. I love them!

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Can I put it in the vegetable garden then and move it this fall. I hate a bald spot that big in my perennial garden. Does it move easy? Also, how much sun can it take?

Mine do move, but not happily. You'll likely lose some.
But on the good side, they have nice foliage, not an eye sore at all!

Thanks, I think I'll just go ahead and plant them then. Thanks again.

Howdy. I have grown from seed and thought that the ones I grew did flower in the first year. Mind you I have a garden full of them so it could have been older ones that were flowering. I move them all the time and have not found them fussy at all. They actually pop up all over the place, so I just dig them out and replant them where I want them. The more the merrier!

Next year should be the Year of the Foxglove for me if all goes as planned. I have a good 60 of them coming up all over from seed. CANT WAIT>
