I was checking out my peppers this morning and saw that there are a bunch of tiny crickets in the bed. Will these cause a problem or will they be benign?

OK- the crickets have gone on their merry way, so no more cricket worries. HOWEVER- I have tons of teeny white bugs on my zukes. I thought they were aphids, and sprayed them with soapy water, but they fly. I thought black aphids were the only ones that fly?

They are most likely whiteflies, which you can get rid of with an organic insecticidal soap: http://www.planetnatural.com/site/insecticidal-soap.html http://www2.yardiac.com/long.asp?item_id=1307 http://ag.arizona.edu/maricopa/garden/html/pubs/0403/zucchini.html

Thanks for the info Charles. I tried a mild mix of Ivory soap (I had been using Dr. Bronner's) and water and that seems to have worked for now. I figured if ticks don't like Ivory, maybe whiteflies wouldn't either!
