That is why it is so special - growing clematis!Waiting six year shows the real clematis-lover. By the way: do you talk to them? They like it, and come back next year - with more flowers (I hope for you!) Gerda

I don't know Perkie...sometimes I wonder about us clematis folk! The waiting, the pests, the diseases, the mildew, the critters that attack, the wind and hail damage...but then the beauty and joy!

Neat pic Sam! I've got two of this one...one bloomed just beautifully, the other with wimpy small flowers and stringy vines. I just have to look at the second one and wonder, what gives??? Same area, same everything, except one is far superior. I'm hoping maturity will help this rather pitiful looking one...so much for leaping.

I've had two that never bloomed last year but never for 6! I guess that just confirms never to give up on a clematis. What tenacious plants they are and what beautiful long-awaited blooms, Sam.

I can't stop wonder what you do to stop Cl. 'Ville de Lyon' from flowering a whole season, I have grown it in Denmark, Sweden and now in NZ and never missed a season, having it in flower from late October to New Year and again from February to April.
