Oh dear, I do not see your photos! My Aotearoa is only a small stem with a few buds so far. I have not seen it bloom yet. I hope I can see yours soon!

Ahhhhhh! I can't wait. Healthy and beautiful! I do love clematis with cream/green anthers. Mine is in full sun. I hope it won't mind.

Beautiful. It's good to know that you can grow "Aotearoa" is part-shade and it still blooms so well for you.

That is a beauty, Malgorzata! It also reminds me of CdB and Barbara H in bloom shape. I couldn't find it on COTW. Perhaps you could supply the first photos ;) Given my abundance of semi-shade, I would welcome this one in my garden.

'Aotearoa' respond very well to pruning, we have plants in flower from mid/late November to late April. Aotearoa = “The land of the Long White Cloud” my chosen home country. The battle scenes in “The Last Samurai” was filmed on the slopes of our mountain.

Isn't it special? I think the color is very beautiful...regardless of camera settings...but then I do like the velvety purple on my Clematis ;) Additional bonus for me is that the flowers are not big so Aotearoa is also charming in size as well.
Peer, I am glad to hear that Aotearoa responds well to cutting! Chopping time here!
