Love your clems Joan...trying to figure out #2. I think it might be Violet Charm. How do you like Rhapsody? It blooms a looonng time here...partnered with CdB. It is really a great group III. :)

Such vibrant color on Ville de Lyon & Rhapsody. Beautiful! The 2nd picture reminds me of Elsa Spaeth.

Tanya, just planted Rhapsody last year, and I love the color. It's almost a purple when it first opens, but then fades to a pretty blue, not quite as dark as the pic. Maybe I just need to play with the camera features. I took these late evening.

This is one that just keeps getting better Joan! The color you mentioned is the same sequence I've experienced here. :)

Those are very vibrant colours indeed. This is the first time I will see my Rhapsody this year. What a lovely colour. Thanks for showing us your clematis. They are lovely.

My Rhapsody only has small 3/4 inch or smaller buds so it will be some time yet. But I can't wait. Patty Ontario

Rhapsody is one of the nearly-true blues for me, very close to Durandii in its cobalt-blue hue. The middle one could be Elsa or possible Ramona, but R. blooms so much earlier, so I doubt that one. Those bluey-purple type II's are as difficult to identify as the purple-mottled heucheras.
