You don't see Annual Phlox around here so I didn't think they would grow very successfully. I was intrigued by the names of several varieties. So I decided to give them a try anyway. I grew "Phlox of Sheep" and "Twinkle" from seed. I also ordered a few from Green Mountain - they sent me "Century Blue Star", I believe, although that wasn't what I ordered. I ordered "Watercolor Memories" and they were out of them. I'm am absolutely charmed. They have done so well and are so pretty. I especially like the "Phlox of Sheep" and "Century Blue Star". Anybody else have this experience. "Phlox of Sheep" There are white, cream, pale pink, all very pretty.

Even if they dwindle away in the summer heat (as many annuals do around here) they are so charming that they've earned a spot in my garden.

I tried Phlox of Sheep from seed last year and I had very few blooms and for a very short time :( They were charming, though.

I always have some of these and get them through most of the summer with plenty water, fertilizer and constant dead heading.
