Early this spring I broad casted some poppy seeds that should have been done in the fall. So I got very heavy handed. I ended up pulling out 2 wheel barrel loads of poppy's and still I have tons in that bed. You can't even tell that there are perennials in it. The grape purple one is new to me this year. The color is so vivid.

Well Linda if you have been following my posts in recent weeks you will know that I love these pictures. Your poppy extravaganza looks fantastic. The only ones I dislike are the "red" corn poppies. They are a reddish orange. I hate that. I have been busy pulling those out.

They look wonderful, Linda! I like the different color ones like the purplish shades. I have a friend who has thousands of them...just gorgeous!

I love your poppies. It's always iffy for me if poppies do well here. I think they need a bit more cold. Oh I would have loved your extras. Carol

Wonderful photos -- macro and the ones that show the whole bed. Usually I have good luck with poppies but this year NADA!! It's been so dry up here and my two new beds' soil have proved to be disappointing---none of the seeds sprouted! BTW, Linda, is there any chance when the pods are ripe, that I could get some of the dark purple seeds? I've spent today and part of yesterday adding to the garden soil and want to try again.
