I have been waiting since March (when I started the seeds) for these plants to bloom and today the first bloom opened. I was one happy gardener.
As happy as this made me, I am a tad disappointed that the foliage is so large compared to normal impatiens. Makes my container look totally out of whack.

Very neat Jodi! I would love to see a picture when more blooms open. It's so satisfying when something blooms that you have started from seed.

I wish I had planted those impatiens in my garden too, Jodi. They're so pretty!

I tried them last year and wasn't in love either :( They seem to grow more like a 'balsam' type.

I'm not in love with them either - I actually dislike them so I gave them away to a neighbour who loves yellow! She was thrilled. Now my urn is springing back without the big thugs taking over!
