Author Message   Andy_p  My Favorite Photo Posted on Thursday, August 03, 2006 - 11:14 am EST :    I happen to love them. They have been a part of my gardens for decades, all from one pack of seed. Sometimes they do get out of hand, though. This is my Strawberry patch, lol. These are all volunteers. I left them so I could snap a few pics and let them shade the August berries. My favorite ones are the purple ones. Had no luck finding those this year. I've read about a dwarf one that I'd love to try. I have tried two years in a row to start them from seed. No luck for some reason although I know they are heavy self sowers. Maybe old seed. I will try direct sowing this year. I have been shaking poppy seeds in all the beds now as they dry in the pods.
