Such a great find! Would that area dry out in spring and summer?

Tony this must have been a great trip, you got to see so many cyclamen. That is such a steep slope, please tell me you did not drag your better half along after her troubles with her broken ankle! Thanks for sharing the trip with us.

Simply amazing. Plant in shot 3 is gorgeous, and the color of 5 just glows.

Terry it was as good as it gets for the flowers .I had had three previous trips when I had seen nothing as I was too early and so needed a bit of success. No I did not take Lesley, we have together holidays and seperate ones. She has just done culture in St. Petersburg and likes a bit of comfort.I get to do some cheap and cheerful trips on my own. Carol yes it would dry out but the plants are on the shady side of the hills and much covered in places with dense shrubs and so would not get baked like the graecum

Glad to hear that this trip turned out a success for you Tony. Will you be going back at some point to collect some seed?

Great plants, great photos and, I guess, you had a great time, Tony. Thank you very much for posting these photos. At this time of the year, I think, you did not see very many fully developed leaves. Do you have photos of some special leaves?

i have never found any special leaves in this area even though i have been in spring when they are fully developed. Here are two pictures of quite nice ones. I will not be going again to collect seed as the term cheap holiday was relative and I much prefer to go when they are in flower. I always look to see if there are any old seed pods but this is very rare.

They're beautiful, Tony. The two forms are quite different. Thank you for giving us a window into your trip!

They aren't bad leaf forms at all, Tony. Thank you for posting these photos, it's a real treat to see them.

I agree, I would rather be going when they are in flower Tony. Those are nice leaf forms, I like the shape of the first one. Tim, you itching to go?

You bet I am, Terry... seeing plants I like in their natural habitat... there's nothing like it. I can go back to sites I've been to many times before and get just as excited about it. Ask Joseph how many times we visited a certain hellebore site near the Plitvice National Park in Croatia! I'm pleased you timed it right, Tony, it looks like you had a great time.

Tony, those two leaf forms are very beautiful. Each one has the typical 4 different shades of green/pewter/silver. There seem to be endless possibilities of colour and pattern combinations.
