How easy are they to grow? And could I grow then in a container?

Very easy. Try going for Super Sugar Snap. I've found that unlike other types; these will continue to produce thru the summer (in reduced vigor) than take off again heavy in the fall. I plant mine in late February here; soil is sandy loam with added compost. Presoak the seed and plant closer than the package says; one per inch works fine.

I've grown these several times, and the only problem I had was rabbits. They like cool, wet weather and will produce as long as they have it, but hot weather stops them dead. They need a bit of space, so it would have to be a fairly large pot. And mine needed something to climb up and twine around, but perhaps they've come out with a bush variety.
