This is my first time growing strawberries, and I bought them in hanging baskets in hopes of being able to harvest more than the bunnies eat. My question is, should I leave them in the plastic pots they came in, or put them in slightly larger baskets I have on hand? Tag calls them Ozark Beauty Everbearing, and claims they will produce large fruit. Pics: Baskets they are in now, four plants in each basket:
Larger baskets:
The fruit on the plants are very small. If I move them into the larger baskets, will that help them grow larger fruit? If I do move them, should I just add potting mix or should I mix in some humus/manure as well? I'm not expecting a huge crop from 8 plants, but I hope to gain enough to keep the three of us happy =) If I can keep the birds and critters off them!
