The Avacodos are ready to pick, We are under Quarantine here in parts of San Diego county, because of the Mex. fruit fly..Although the crop looks good and is eatable, just can't take them out of the area....

So its Quacamole time...come on over...:-)

Phyllis..I would love to sit in your outdoor living room with a big straw hat and eat guacamole while sipping a margarita. Here too for that fact..But not for a few more months.
Great mouth watering photo.
I also love them stuffed with crab and cooked in the oven..Or just like that in a salad!

YUM YUM YUM!

When I lived in West Africa people were always offering me pears. Ugh, I don't like them! But well into my second year I discovered that "pear" actually meant "avocado pear" and could have kicked myself for missing out on years of eating them fresh from the trees.
I also refused eggs for a long time and later discovered this was "garden eggs" which meant "eggplant", a vegetable I love when prepared well.

Those are beautiful avocados, Phyllis. I love them with just a squeeze of fresh lemon and a little garlic salt - yum!

I am also an avocado fan. Bit spoiled I guess as this mountain is covered in avocado farms. Our tree died of overkindness.

Phyllis, Do you grow these avocados in a greenhouse?
I've seen people here in England growing these plants indoors but they never get any fruit.
What kind of temperature do you need to get this kind of fruit?

Curious greeting from across the ocean!

Oh, yum. I just made some guacamole tonight, but I'm sure my tasteless avocados from the grocery are nothing like these beauties!!!

How are they doing this year, Phyllis? Did they survive the storms?
