Funny.. for 25 plus yrs..I made Easter treats..the Easter bunny came etc..I am having the dinner tomorrow but I thought ..well the girls are 28 and 26 ..No chocolates this year(The first)..
Mylène came to the door around 4.30 with this ..
It was an Easter box filled with a smaller version of the eggs I made every year.
I have to tell you that I find it so sweet that after all these years..I am the one receiving these.Full circle you could say.
Here are the quickly taken photos and the Egg recipe..
A knock-off of our Laura Secord cream filled eggs here in Montréal.

Easter Cream Filled Chocolate Eggs.

1/2 Cup softened butter
pinch of salt
1 can eagle Brand milk
1tsp of vanilla
2.2lbs of icing sugar
1 lb of semisweet chocolate melted over a bain-marie.
Food coloring if desired.

1.Cream butter and salt until fluffy
Gradually beat in Eagle Brand milk, vanilla and food coloring.Slowly beat in icing sugar.
2.Knead mixture with hands until totally homogenous and flexible.
3.Roll into egg shapes.
4.Put on wax paper lined trays and chill about 4 hrs or until firm.
5.Resting each egg on a 2 pronged fork ,dip egg in melted chocolate.Drip off excess.Place back on wax paper lined tray.Let rest till firm.
Decorate while still warm or just leave plain.
Store covered in the fridge or room temp.
A nice tradition..Seems to have caught on

Oh this is great...thanks for the recipe.
Mum made these one year...larger, with everyone's names piped on them, set on doilies. Maybe the same recipe...
This appeals to my very sweet tooth.
That is so sweet about Mylene making them for you.
Enjoy your family dinner tomorrow night.
I am having the family..there will be 11 of us. Mum is bringing the ham and a salad. My MIL has brought pies and wine. I will make carrot dill soup to start and herb bread in the breadmaker, along with potatoes. It is a group effort! I like to have fun with the kids so it is great that it is that way.

I am 33 and will be disappointed if the Easter Bunny doesn't bring me a little chocolate...

That is so sweet (no pun intended) and touching, Monique. Thank you for the recipe which I will definitely try.
