The slope entering my garden washed onto the patio and the mulched paths are a mess. Despite the cleanup that lies ahead I was pleased to see the Veronicastrum light up the border this morning. This daylily is "Fire of Hell". I like the blue grey leaves of ornamental grass Heavy Metal in the foreground. Heavy metal is not in the picture. The light on the leaves of Fire of Hell gave a blueish tinge, which made me think it was Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal is actually in the back of the border.
