We've had some major down pours this week. Some homeowners suffered bad flooding. The slope entering my garden washed onto the patio and the mulched paths are a mess. Despite the cleanup that lies ahead I was pleased to see the Veronicastrum light up the border this morning.
This daylily is "Fire of Hell". I like the blue grey leaves of ornamental grass Heavy Metal in the foreground.

I don't suppose you want to hear that we're having a heatwave in the UK! I've not seen a summer like this for 30 years!! Your garden looks great despite the rain!

I love veronicastrum and its vertical habit! I also love Heavy Metal because it keeps its form well. (Mine are not near each other.)

OOPS. Heavy metal is not in the picture. The light on the leaves of Fire of Hell gave a blueish tinge, which made me think it was Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal is actually in the back of the border. I realized it when I was out doing the clean up!
