My neighbor has a plant that she says blooms at night. When I went to look at it the blooms were still on it with the sun on it. The flowers are yellow and she says you can sit there in the evening and watch the flower petals unfold one at a time. Right now the plant is dry and not that attractive due to the end of the season. Large stems originate at ground level and have many small pointed leaves. Interspersed in those leaves are the yellow flowers. I took some seeds and they are very tiny, similar in size to columbine seeds but brown not black. We were hoping for a name for the plant. Her is about 3 feet tall right now.

This is Evening Primrose or Oenothera. I have a fabulous one called Lemon Sunset - see pic. It seeds around very freely so you should get some plants next year if you've saved seed.

Gorgeous plants. I love them. I want to get Sunset Boulevard for next year. Guess what color it is? :)

How beautiful, I love them both. I have a white one but don't know the name off hand. I have not found any seeds so must check. Sue, I hope you find "Sunset Boulevard" , No idea what color it might be.
