Oh you are so lucky. I love them. What a site to see from your house. We have lots of deer but nothing so wonderful as moose. Thank you for sharing this picture with us. Debbie

Great photos! I know what damage deer can do in a garden--I'd hate to see what the moose would eat!

We can see the moos from our hut when we sometimes are eating breakfast - but this one is from the road just before. I wonder why this one is so speckled ? Is it some kind of "changing skin process" going on ?

I've never seen a moose up close and personal but aren't those things HUGE?!? That last picture is great. He's just struttin' his stuff!

Looks too large to be the coloring of a young calf - like a spotted fawn. Do you have to worry about deer tick bites and Lyme disease there, Finn? I've really enjoyed photos from your hut.

Moose are pretty common in Maine - and yes, they are huge. I don't think they're a problem in gardens, they're pretty shy. Your speckled one may be moulting.

Great photos Finn!

GREAT photos! That is very exciting to see.

Yes, your moose is just shedding some fur. It sort of looks like my Golden Retriever in the spring before a good brush out. ;-)

Thanks for sharing those. The one with the nose up looks so proud.

Yes the moos can be huge, I have heard up to 150 - 200 kg. Some time we buy meat during hunting season and we normally get around 60 - 70 kg meat (1/2 animal). They do normally not make any problem in the gardens because they are shy and keep far away. The animals you see here are young and small - and seen from the car. They are not afraid of cars and by luck you can get much closer. They are proud animals and keep often their heads up when running.

Also no problems with diseases here as far as I know.
