Hi Earlybird,
Big Dave does create some beautiful flowers. His PANDORA'S BOX (Talbott, Dave, 1982) was one of the flowers that turned me on to Daylilies!

That is certainly a keeper, Sometimes the plain ones are more beautiful in their simplicity then the fancier. This one is beautiful.christmas

I have one old daylily that I would never part with, it is a plain yellow but while my other daylilies are still sleeping, it wakes up and blooms, there can be snow on the ground and it still blooms. It has a place in my garden.

Please bear with me. I'm new to Garden Buddies, and it will soon be apparent. I have about 40 Daylilies, but none of them are named varieties, as I've bought several "breeders collections" from Wayside. They're all lovely, but must have not made a final cut for a name of their own. Who is Big Dave, and where can his Daylilies be bought? I'm interested in sources for all kinds of plants. Plants Delight, Wayside, and Lowes have been my standbys for years. Thanks! This is a great site!

Hi Janh,

"Big Dave" is DAVE TALBOTT of Green Cove Florida. His Nursery phone # is 904-284-9874. He is a good source for some of the latest Daylilies on the market.

Happy Gardening,

Precious

Very nice. I love the mauve and yellow combination.
And the name is very fitting.
