Very nice list. I was considering some of the same plants as you, especially the aquilegia. I didn't order from Alplains or RMRP as of yet. I will probably place a minimum order. I still want to see if the A. jonesii comes back but I will probably get the seeds anyway. It never seemed to perk up much after I got it and slowly died back a leaf at a time.

I did order from Gardens North:
Aconitum Red Wine
Platycodon grandiflorus from Blue and white sport
Phacelia sericea
Aquilegia viridflora
Edranthus pumilio
Edranthus graminifolius
fritillaria gussichiae
fritillaria graeca
lilium philadelphicum
anemonopsis macrophylla
Codonopsis grey – wilsonii
clematis fremontii
cyclamen silver/pewter w white flowers

And I might order some american species from rainbow lilyseeds but since the squirrels go after the lily bulbs, I'm not sure yet.

I just got my order from alplains and have sown them. They included the aquilegia saximontana but my garden advisor-Mrs W. stoped me ordering jonesii as it would never grow with us.

The area in Wyoming was like a desert when we went to see it in summer,no rain for ages.Thats the way it is looking for plants in the wild.

Probably a wise, less willful decision. I feel now, I might have to at least try it after all this chat. It is humid here though.

Tony I probably shouldn't have got them either but I can't resist a challenge and it is a lot of fun trying.

You do not know about all my other challenges,I think this would be one too far. They will not grow outside and I do not have the space to grow them under glass. If you succeed it will be wonderful,I have never seen one in flower here.

See my seed request under Trading etc. Maybe we can do some trading as I have just ordered from Specialty Perrennials:
Aquilegia flabellata var. pumila 'Alba'
Balsamorhiza sagittata
Tagetes (Marigold ) 'Crackerjack Mix'
Clematis recta 'Purpurea'
Lilium martagon 'Mixed'
Mimulus luteus 'Large Flowering mix'
Ipomoea tricolor 'Minibar Rose'
Ipomoea noctiflora
Papaver nudicaule 'Aurora Borealis'
Papaver orientale 'Benary Special Mix'
Dianthus barbatus 'Indian Carpet'
Delphinium elatum 'Foersters Hybrids'
More than I need but wanted to give them a try.

There is some spring growth showing on the A. jonesii - got my fingers crossed. The campanula pulla I bought with it is also growing. I think I will try to find a nice trough. Will it continue? Will I get some flowers (and seed)? Will it fade in the summer heat or spring wet? Time will tell. It spent some time under snow but was often exposed and the pot is buried under the eaves so it was the first area to dry out.

I wish you all the best of luck with your jonesii, I did buy some seeds but afterwards found out they supposedly need GA3 to germinate )-:

Gardensnorth.com sells it, among some very interesting seed choices.

Yes, I originally bought the GA3 from Gardens North. Mine is a few years old but I was going to try it anyway on some things.

Hi Terry, Yes I know GN sells GA3, but am not sure I want to fiddle with it, not to mention the extra expense.
I am very well acquainted with the GN catalogue, I love browsing it whenever I get a few spare minutes.
It is way too tempting.

That is an understatement!

I am not sure but you might get the same effect from a woodsy soil. Maybe you can write GN and ask, she is so nice.

Terry, I tried some trillium seed 2 years ago, and mixed some leaf leaf mould from the woods where the wild trilliums grow with some soil and peat and managed to get a couple to germinate, ( seeds came from GN)not sure if it was just luck though.
Am hoping to see a few more this spring.
