We found the white form of Aquilegia caerulea at Jenny Lake in the Grand Tetons and then Aquilegia flavescens and its form var miniana with pink sepals both in Yellowstone

Has A. flavescens ever been cultivated? The miniana var. is so unusually coloured and very pretty.

Thanks all .They were photographed on the 7th July.
I have no knowledge of the pink form in cultivation but I understand it is wide spread in the wild and so should have had seed collected

WOW! You are so lucky to of been there. Its so pretty. I was there in 1972 and just 16 and NOT into flowers one little bit. Would love to go back.

Tony I missed this post. They are just beautiful. Species of any plant can be so much more delicate looking.

Karalyn, Tony is from the UK-but was visiting. He never really stays long in Lancashire, as he's always traveling somewhere.

Lancashire is in the North West of England a most beautiful county but very very wet where I live. Terry my ideal would be to go away one week every month but but I will only do that if I come back rich in the next life.
