Looks like what you have there is Oncidium twinkle 'Sharry Baby'. Very nice.

What a very sweet name for an orchid. Thanks Kathy!

Any tips on caring for it? I seem to have made it healthy but the flowers are pretty shortlived and only two spikes this year. Do I just have to be patient or should I "March it up the mountains." as one orchid lady judge once told me when talking about some orchid she was looking at.

Your doing great with it, keep doing what your doing. In time, the plant will provide you with more flower spikes as Sharry Baby is very floriferous and blooms several times a year most times from new growth, but sometimes from old growth. They like it sunny, but too much sun brings out dark specks on the leaves...harmless, but not real attractive. Also, to promote spiking, keep the plant cooler at night by putting it on a chilly windowsill before bedtime. Your plant appears happy and healthy, so I would continue the care you have already given it. Oh, and as you may have guessed this is a miniature Onc.! What fun!

Thats why it likes my bathroom window, bright but frosted glass so not scorched.

Haha! Thats why it likes my bathroom. Warm in the day but chilly at night.

Yep. That finally dawned on me when it had such little flower stalks appear.
Thanks again for your help Kathy.
