The idea has certainly been on my mind lately! I have a huge one that is going through yet another round of leafing, so I was thinking of starting some up. At $15-20 for a tiny plant in the store, it would be worth the wait.

How long does it take til rooting? Any special handling you give it?

I've been told it takes up to a year! Take a look here, fascinating, and the only site showing ZZ in flower!

Great summary pages and very useful. Thanks!

A member of GW posted her ZZ in flower last year. I had never seen one before.

Yes I have one - they are fabulous houseplants. Mine's getting quite large.

I did try starting one from a leaf but let it get too dry.

I am trying to do some propagating by leaf. I have planted six leaves so I will keep everyone updated when anything happens. I think they said it can take anywhere up to a year to grow.

They say when it dies to look for a tuber because then it should have started growing. I'll post a pic later on mine.

Yes mine produced a tuber and then sent up a shoot. Unfortunately it just withered away.
