I got a bunch of cuttings of various types of Coleus from my parent's neighbor a few months back. They were happily growing new roots in water until recently. Finally they are planted. I will move them to the garden once weather permits.

Looks like you have a beautiful collection, Luiza! I have some cuttings from a generous garden friend indoors too.

I love coleus. There are some incredible new varieties available and the wonderful thing is that they're so easy to propagate. That looks like a lovely collection Luiza!

This week I pinched the tops of to promote bushiness. Hopefully by spring they will fill in more.

A real nice coleus collection ! I have three varieties growing in pots that I brought in last fall , and one that I got a start from a hanging basket in town just before a hard frost .

I had been intending on saving some cutting from some of my coleus this past summer but forgot and zip! they were frozen. Too bad because some of the new coleus are vivid and unique.

I love the dark ones. Especially the unusual ferny foliage of the one. I always kill mine.

Welcome Joni! Give them more time since it won't hurt them to stay in the water even for a few months.

I agree. As long as they're not rotting give them time.

They look great, Missgarden. I didn't bring any of mine in. I really like the long fingered, frilly one. :) Donna

Missgarden, your coleus plants are beautiful! They've really filled out nicely. I just planted some coleus seeds too, and am waiting for them to sprout soon.

I planted seeds of Coleus Rainbow Mix on the 13 of March and they were about 1/4 " high - but I set the peat pots outside on my deck in a protected spot because it is supposed to be rainy and warmish all week - they grew another 1/4" almost overnight. I haven't had luck with coleus seeds before so I am pleased. Such a common old-fashioned plant, and still so special! I too need lots!!

Luiza, your coleus are so lovely! I bring mine inside as well. Cheerful color through the long winter. Just a few from my collection.

Wow, MissGarden, those are super coleus, really grew nicely after you potted them. Starzgarden, those are very nice coleus as well. Very colorful.
