Hi, I don't want to impress you as ignorant; but what is water horsetail? I live in SW Missouri in the center of the USA. Beverly SW Missouri USA

Water Horsetail-Equisetum fluviatile. A water plant with coarse stems that spreads by rhizomes. Because of its silica content, it was used as pot scrubbers back in the day and by campers. I grew some in a large pot inside along with some Parrot's Feather and Duckweed. It did well for a year or so but I have since lost it. Vilcat

I can't even transplant the things that grow in the ditches around here! I did purchase the miniature one in a pot from a nursery. I placed it in my little stream which gets water from an overflowing irrigation pond. So now it is asleep in the snow right now.
