Hello all! I have recently joined gardenbuddies and I am enjoying it immensely. I have learned so much in such a short time I think my brain is going to pop! I get sucked in here for hours reading and viewing all of the gorgeous gardens of everyone here.
I am feeling very motivated to get started on my own. As of now I only have a few things Im enjoying growing.
My question....where is the best (aka cheapest) place to buy new seeds, cuttings, seedlings, bulbs etc. ???
I am an ebayer but it seems the shipping there can be quite crazy. I was wondering if there are some websites or catalogs that you all frequent and have been pleased with using.
Im looking forward to doing some ordering today while Im watching football...help!
:)

Guess everybody's been watching football and 'doing' Thanksgiving! Surprised to see you haven't had answers. Ordering depends somewhat on what kind of plants you want. You can go to the web site of organizations like the Gesneriad Society, the African Violet Society, the Begonia Society--and lots of outdoor plant societies too, but since this is the Indoor Forum--! Each has lists of places that carry their kinds of plants. Some I like are Rob's Violet Barn, which has lots and lots of AVs, but also many other gesneriads and begonias and others--excellent service, good prices, nice healthy plants. Lyndon Lyon has lots of indoor plants, and I liked what I got from them recently very much. There's so many! It's also helpful to see if there's a group of gardeners--garden clubs, people that just like plants--locally and join them or start your own. One I belong to has a plant exchange each meeting, and we exchange plants that do well in our area, which is something to consider. Some folks have done well with FreeCycle too.

I received a lot of good feedback from our GB's :)

Thanks to both of you for your help! I did some skipping around the internet and I now have lots of catalogs on their way to my mailbox. I am purchasing some things I found on ebay as well...Kenilworth Ivy, Dwarf Coffee, Kangaroo Vine and some Coleus. I loved the miniature houseplant section on the violet barn site and the hoyas are gorgeous!
