I am very lucky to live close to the downs. This is one of our favourite walks, just a 15 minute drive away, and as with all our walks there is a pub on route.

It's lovely to go for a brisk walk on a crisp winters day.
Lovely countryside, looks like good birdwatching territory (hubby's hobby)..and a pint of Guinness/Beamish at the end.

Sounds like my kind of walk!

Looks like Bubbles enjoyed it too!

Absolutely gorgeous! I have a friend in Lancestire (sp?)..the outskirts..and the scenery is similar and as beautiful. Such vast "scapes" to look at as you walk....who'd need an elliptical trainer if you had this!!!

Lancaster actually which is quite a distance away from you. My father is from Reading which isn't too far from you.....but England seems to be beautiful no matter where you go (and I get alot of seeds from there)! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful pictures and it looks like you were really lucky with the weather.
You must live fairly close to me as I am only about 15 mins from the Downs. You put me to shame as I only ever walk them in the Summer!
What would a good walk be without a pub at the end of it. I thought that was the whole point lol!

Your area reminds me of the moors around Derbyshire in the Peak District. I loved walking the trails when I was there. Moreover, walking the trails is so very popular in England that it makes me envious!

Oh, wow, what a lovely place for a walk. It sure is nice to see that big blue sky, too.
