Looks like a variety of garter snake. I've been watching for them but so far haven't seen any. It's odd that with 23 acres I've never seen them anywhere but up fairly close to the house.

Great captures! I photographed a snake in my Maine garden once and was so thrilled to have seen him! Wonderful creatures.
