This is the route behind our house. Takes about an hour or so. Great for walking off the Christmas excesses!

What wonderful photos Moira! Everyone of them----so much to see. What kind of fluffy seed pods are those?

What a gorgeous place to go for a walk! Your country side seems to be rolling hills and it's lovely! I love that blue sky and sunshine as well.

How lovely - the seed heads look like clematis? Love the ivy and rose hips.

Darn! Just lost everything I wrote. I keep getting some error thing coming up on GB. Will try again.... Thankyou everyone. Denise they are clematis seedheads as Ann said. Clematis vitalba, to be exact. They grow wild around here.
'Hills and dales' Diane and it did turn into a lovely sunny day. If we walked the path all the way we would end up on the South Downs. (you may have to look that up) Oneday when we have enough time we would like to do that but it would probably be more than a days walk.

Thanks Gloria. I live in a town but right on the very edge. The view in the other direction is an awful lot of rooftops!

Wow, these are wonderful, Moira! You are lucky to have such a nice place for a walk, and so close to your home. It looks very peaceful for being right on the edge of a town.

Thankyou.
Beautiful isn't it. It was bought a few years ago and completely renovated. They have done an incredible job but they do have lots of money to pour into it. The people who own it run a business dealing with sick and injured racehorses. The stables etc. for the horses are around the back of the house. Obviously lots of money in a business like that.
Never at dusk Mike. The first picture with the field doesn't show the ponies that are kept in it. You have to be careful where you tread! I would hate to come back across it in the dark lol!
It is. No major roads near us just residential and as you can see nothing but nature behind us.

Haha! Not so sure about the last pic on there BW. What is it and why?! Those waterfalls are a very good reason to emigrate to Canada as is the amount of space you have. We nearly went once as my hubby was offered a job there. He turned it down. Are those grapevines in that field? Have you tasted wine made from them? When you are settled maybe we could do a house swap. You can spend a couple of weeks here when you get homesick and I get to play in waterfalls!

The last pic was a tease....it's a giant strawberry on someone's front yard. That is grapevine in the field and that pic was take in the Niagara area ( wine country ). I have tasted wine from the area via the numerous wineries in the area. We sometimes organize wine tasting tours as a group, and go round all the wineries and botanical gardens in the area. Th ehouse swap thing sound good, although I still have my flat in the Docklands London, and parents still live in Herts

Now thats just plain greedy;) Must be nice knowing you can come back whenever you want. We are planning (5 years from now) to rent or sell ours and go see the rest of the world. Can't wait!

It's always good to keep a foot in the UK housing market. Your travelling plan sounds good, and everyone should do that at some point in their lives. I travelled a lot before settling down to marry, and it took me from Uk to Europe, Oz Nz, Africa, the US, Asia and south America. We still have places we want to see as a couple and family.

Aha! I see you have added a name now. Hi Mike. We travelled like yourself prior to getting married. Still far too much left to see. My two favourite things in life, plants and travel, both nicely combined (well virtually) on this site, so post some more of your surroundings please. Never did get to Canada.
