Default Viorna buds splitting

Does anyone know why some viorna buds would split before opening?
I have a pitcheri that has done this with every flower during the two years I have had it.
Here's a pic.

Now I have first bud on a viorna seedling and it is splitting in two places.

Viorna seedling.

The pitcheri has been in the ground for 2 years, the seedling is still in a pot in the greenhouse.

The pitcheri looks normal to me and it's very pretty. The viorna (crispa in there too somewhere?) looks as though the tepals got stuck together, I just pull them apart if I don't like looking at a warped flower. The viorna group does tend to have a lot of anthers (and pollen) and I have seen flowers that the bees have split open climbing inside. It's a tight fit in there!

Here I'd be wondering if it was low humidity, but I know that's not an issue for you.
