Default Dahlia Season

Well, dahlia season is just around the corner. Seems like we just put them to bed. It is hard to think about dahlia season when it is so darn cold out !!! I have just started placing orders. Three so far, Cory, Swan Island and Accent Dahlias. A few more to go and then I will buy some at the Seattle Flower and Garden Show that is next month. But the major buy will be at our dahlia club tuber sale the first weekend in April. If you have a club in your area, you should find out if they have a tuber sale and when it is. You can get some great buys there. Our tubers sell for $2.00 to $5.00 with most varieties at the $2.00 level. Such a deal.

That's a wonderful deal Linda. I'm still wanting to give dahlias more of a go; haven't had good success so far.

Sweet deal!
I would love to grow some of the bigger dahlias but the wind here would knock them over too much so I stick with the smaller ones. I have one that survived my seed sowing - yes, only 1. It's hard to find viable seeds around here for some reason. I have no clue what it is but I absolutely love it!

I bought some singles this year Amber Quarts and Rose Quarts. It's the first time that I'll be growing this kind. Previously I had success with cactus and pom pom. It did help when I started them indoors.
