Hi I started working at a new hospital and I am surprised to see so many plants on the window sills. One particular plant caught my eye and I wanted to get a clipping to grow at home. However, I have no clue what the name of the plant is. The nurses told me that the plants have been there for years and no one knows who placed them there, they just water them every now and then. So I was wondering if you could help me ID the plant, and tell me how to propagate it. Or at least ID the plant and then I can look up how to propagate it on my own.
Thank you very much for your help. also I'd like to mention that I am in NJ and thus it's winter out here and I wanted to know if I could also propagate it in the winter, or if there's any downside to propagating plants in the winter. |

I agree it's a E. milii, but it looks like the Somona variety. These are actually quite easy to propagate, and unlike many succulents, you can cut a piece of it and stick it in a glass of water and it will root. It's better though to take an end cutting and root it in moist, but not wet, soil.
