Default First Iris

Hi all, well my first iris bloomed today. A nice yellow one. Later I will post the pictures I took of it. There will be 3 more iris's from this plant alone. I have I believe 5 or 6 more plants that are getting ready to bloom. At the moment, they all look to be yellow even though it would be nice if some were blue.

That is a nice rich yellow.

Irises here are just starting to form buds. Everyday I look and count to see how many blooms are coming. I never get as many blooms as I feel I should, no matter what I do regarding planting, location and feeding. I have a new small bed that I moved some to last year and they have as many flower stalks as the older beds... so much for my theory of not blooming the first year!

They are all old un-named varieties that were here when we moved in, so perhaps they are not good performers anyway.

All my iris's were given to me by my neighbor. As you can see by looking at the iris, there's another one right next to it coming out. It's looking like most of my iris's will have 4 flowers.

The yellow is nice.

I also wish the iris blooms would last longer. Our siberians are getting ready to pop in a few days, cant wait !

I'm not sure if any of you have heard this, but all my yellow iris's have been reblooming like you wouldn't believe. I have been getting from 7 to 10 flowers on each plant now. It seems that once one flower dies off another one is there to take it's place. And it's not just mine, my neighbor's yellow iris's are doing the same thing. Really pretty.

This is a picture of my reblooming iris bed. It also has my rhodies and my hostas in it along with my sedum.
